Welcome to Elsie A.Hastings Elementary School

Horowitz

Dear Hastings School Families,

It has been a TERRIFIC first month of school! Students are transitioning into their routines, practicing expectations, and getting comfortable in their learning environments. It’s incredible how much they learn in a few short weeks! I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting students at lunch and recess, “catching” students learning in classrooms, and greeting smiling students at the bus.  The positivity our students exude is what makes Hastings a special place!

In September, I was lucky enough to visit each classroom and review my job at Hastings. I shared that my job at school is to make sure students are safe, happy, and have all the tools they need to learn, be successful, and grow! The students also reviewed their jobs at school which include: being safe, being kind and respectful, taking care of the school, and doing their best!  Students listened to a story about practicing the golden rule and making new friends! The message of my lesson continues to echo through our building, and we appreciate the reinforcement at home!

The Hastings School is energetic about our start to the 2019-2020 school year, and thrilled to dive into Fall as a strong, enthusiastic school community!

Take Care,

Julia Horowitz
